Brutal Paradox

The brutal paradox of truly living and working the twelve steps is despite every success story of witnessing the miracle of a person overcoming the addiction of drugs or alcohol, you also watch so many lose the battle and end up dead, in jail, or living in an eternal downward spiral. Sometimes it can deeply effect your psyche. But we stay the course because we see that vastly improved and healed person in the mirror and the other faces of those who we helped make it it out of their personal hell. Some have did the "Got mine" and walk away. They inevitably end up relapsing or live their life without the happiness the program delivers. It is the next broken person that comes through the door that renews our drive to reach out and give what was so freely given to us. Stay the course; don't give up; climb the steps with us; the view is breathtaking up here
